Welcome to My New Website!
Hello! It’s been a while but my new website is finally here. And with my new website comes my new blog. So with this first post, I thought it’d be nice to chat about why things have changed and what the plan is going forward.
1) What’s changed?
The biggest change is that I’ve switched web hosting platforms. As I can’t build a website from scratch (I’m an actor, not a coder!), I’m reliant on web hosting platforms to host my website.
But why the change in platform? I’m a firm believer in supporting companies that I align with ethically as much as possible. In a capitalist society, where we choose to spend our money is a powerful tool. Our coin is hard-earned. I think it’s important to be discerning with where it goes, seeing as we can’t take it with us.
As my previous web hosting platform was an Israeli company, I couldn’t in good conscience continue to use them in light of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. So a change was needed. But the change has also given me the opportunity to re-evaluate what I want this online space to be for me and for my visitors. There may still be some tweaks over the next few weeks and months so watch this space!
2) What’s the plan for this website?
This website is, first and foremost, a place for people to find out about me and my work. It’s for industry professionals who may want to hire me for their projects. It’s for my YouTube viewers to find out more about my professional life. And it’s for anyone and everyone who’s interested to have another window into my personal and professional perspectives. If you’re here, welcome!
3) What’s the plan for this blog?
Over the next few months, I’ll be interspersing new blog posts with reposts of some of my old posts from my old website. At the moment I’m not sure what I’ll be writing about in the new posts, or what the vibe will be. What I do know is that I want my website to feel like home. There are very few online spaces where I feel that I can curate a space that fulfils me and facilitates what I want to put out into the world (YouTube is probably the closest). So that’s what I want my website, and especially this blog, to be.
I might play around with advice, personal stories, reviews of shows and books. I might settle on a particular genre or keep it a mixed bag. I hope you’re down with finding out what this new iteration of my blog will be together.
